What is a case interview and how do you prepare? 

A consulting case interview is a simulated business problem presented during the interview process. The candidate must walk through their thinking process and propose a recommendation (or recommendations) to “solve” the client’s challenge. During the interview, the candidate is evaluated on the following: 

  • Structured thinking and logical decomposition 
  • Quantitative and analytical ability 
  • Business judgment and creativity 
  • Communication clarity and persuasiveness 
  • Flexibility / adaptability when new information is introduced
