“I credit my experience in the ILR School with securing my first job as a consultant at IBM. Consulting was attractive to me because of the opportunity to explore a lot of industries in a short period of time and gain tangible skills that would be useful throughout my career. At the time, I was unsure of exactly what I wanted my career to look like. I always wanted to go back to school, and about two-years into my consulting journey, I started sincerely thinking about that goal. A global pandemic and many networking conversations later, including with Cornell alumni, I began a multi-year career transition into the legal field through Georgetown Law’s Evening Program. What drew me to make the change is that, unlike clients in consulting who come to IBM to help implement a solution to a problem, clients come to a lawyer knowing they have a problem, but not knowing how to solve it. Today, I feel fortunate to work on new and exciting legal issues every day as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Supreme Court of New Jersey!”
