This session was designed with your best interests in mind. You will have the unique opportunity to hear from a senior business member at SMBC. Christine Ferris is a Managing Director and Head of the Securitized Products Group (SPG) at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). SPG is responsible for originating and structuring asset-backed transactions as well as distributing them to third-party investors via the securitization markets. The team is also responsible for providing financing backed by consumer, commercial, and corporate assets using SMBC’s balance sheet and its bank-sponsored commercial paper conduit. This includes the firm’s warehouse lending and Private Credit financing functions. Under Christine’s leadership, the firm is expanding its securitized products business across clients, products, and asset classes. Christine joined SMBC in 2024 after spending nearly two decades working in structured finance at JP Morgan Chase. Most recently, she was Managing Director and Global Head of JPM’s CLO Primary business, which finished first in league table rankings in both the US and Europe in 2024. In addition to banking established CLO issuer clients, Christine is known as the market-leader in advising clients who are launching their debut CLO.
