Job Title: Senior Apparel Designer

Location: Miami, FL (On-Site)

ALEXIS is seeking a Senior Apparel Designer to support the Design Director in bringing elevated, fashion-forward collections to life. This role is ideal for a highly creative and technically skilled designer with a refined aesthetic and a deep understanding of contemporary womenswear. You should have a strong sense of fashion trends and the ability to interpret them into creative designs. We are seeking a Technical Designer who has a strong understanding of garment construction. The ideal candidate for this role will have a keen eye for detail and a talent and passion for fashion and design.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in women’s fashion design and experience leading a design team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process for the brand’s ready-to-wear collections, including concept development, sketching, and prototyping
  • Collaborate with the creative director and other members of the design team to ensure collections are cohesive and on-brand
  • Research current fashion trends, fabrics, and materials to inform design decisions
  • Oversee the selection of fabrics and trims for the collection
  • Work closely with the technical design team to ensure that garments are properly constructed and fit well
  • Attend fittings and make necessary adjustments to ensure garments fit and function properly.
  • Communicate effectively with the Production department, to ensure that designs are executed properly.
  • Oversee and work closely with the Atelier team of Pattern Makers, Cutters and Sewers to ensure that all sketches and BOM are executed correctly. Also focusing on the timeliness and accuracy of the process in the sample room and through production.
  • Supervise and mentor junior designers and interns

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in fashion design or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in fashion design, with at least 3 years in a senior designer role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and experience in women’s fashion.
  • Strong knowledge of current fashion trends, fabrics, and materials.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, Photoshop.
