Join Our Team as a Cooking Instructor!

City of Kentwood – Parks & Recreation Department

Do you love cooking and sharing your culinary skills with others? The City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department is looking for enthusiastic Cooking Instructors to lead fun and educational cooking classes for children and adults! This is your chance to inspire others, share your passion for food, and make a difference in your community—all while helping participants learn kitchen safety, basic cooking skills, and delicious recipes they can recreate at home.

What You’ll Do

As a Cooking Instructor, you’ll:

  • Plan and teach cooking classes for kids and adults
  • Demonstrate safe kitchen practices and proper food handling
  • Guide participants through a variety of recipes and techniques
  • Create a fun, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Manage class supplies and maintain accurate attendance or notes

About You

You love working with people, have a passion for cooking, and enjoy teaching and sharing your skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children in education, recreation, or similar programs
  • Prior experience instructing or teaching a cooking class
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • Pay Rate: $25/hour
