Position Title: Graphic Designer Intern (Unpaid)
Location: Remote / New York City (hybrid optional)
Organization: Decibel
Reports To: Creative Director / Executive Director
Commitment: 8–10 hours/week, flexible scheduling
Duration: 3–6 months (with potential to extend)

About Decibel

Decibel is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based in New York City committed to presenting high-quality, culturally diverse live music experiences. Through concerts, festivals, and educational programming, we support artistic excellence and community engagement.

Position Summary

We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Designer Intern to join our team. This intern will support the creation of visual assets for both print and digital platforms, helping shape the visual identity of Decibel’s events, campaigns, and brand presence.

Responsibilities

Design promotional materials such as flyers, posters, social media graphics, email headers, and digital ads

Assist in maintaining visual consistency across all platforms and event branding

Help update and improve website visuals (no coding required)

Collaborate with the marketing and programming teams to conceptualize creative campaigns

Prepare assets for print and digital distribution

Attend occasional team meetings and check-ins (virtual or in-person)

Qualifications

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva

Strong sense of design, layout, and typography

Ability to meet deadlines and work independently

Passion for music, arts, or nonprofit work is a plus

Portfolio or work samples required with application
