About Us:
Free Your Mind Creative Learning Center is St. Augustine’s only DIY art studio, dedicated to delivering engaging, hands-on creative experiences that boost confidence and spark imagination. Our 5-star-rated art camps are a favorite among kids and parents alike, designed to keep creativity exciting, fresh, and fun.

We specialize in teaching creative thinking while working with a wide variety of materials – including natural elements like shells, wood, and sand – to inspire young artists and connect them with the world around them. Our camps don’t focus on painting fruit baskets – instead, we teach kids how to draw and color their favorite characters, explore expressive techniques, and stay engaged through projects that speak to their interests and imaginations. Everything we do is built around making art a joyful, confidence-building experience.

The Opportunity:
We’re seeking two motivated, reliable Art Education Interns to assist with our Summer Art Camp program for children ages 6–12. This is more than an internship – it’s a chance to grow as an educator, leader, and creative thinker in a fun, vibrant studio setting.

You’ll be mentored directly by the Founder & Director and involved in all aspects of camp – from prepping materials and guiding kids through projects to creating video demonstrations and helping design weekly themed content. The role evolves as you grow, with the goal of handing over more responsibility as your confidence and skills increase.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with classroom management and maintain a positive, encouraging environment.

Support children through the creative process in a judgment-free zone.

Help design and prepare art projects for weekly themed camps.

Record and participate in video tutorials of art projects for playback during presentations.

Collaborate with the Founder on PowerPoint lessons – eventually taking the lead.

Prep materials, clean up workspaces, and help maintain studio organization.

Act as a positive role model and uphold our commitment to a smooth-flowing, stress-free experience for our campers and their families.

Lift and move supplies (up to 25 lbs) as needed.

Ideal Candidate:

Enrolled in or recently graduated from an Art Education or related program.

Exceptionally creative, resourceful, and enthusiastic about working with children.

Reliable, professional, and excited to learn about studio operations.

Comfortable both behind-the-scenes and leading small groups.

Able to communicate clearly and effectively with kids, parents, and team members.

Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Has dependable transportation and strong work ethic.

Flexible around class schedules – we’re happy to work with you!

Perks:

Fun, colorful, and welcoming creative environment.

Flexible scheduling options.

Real-world teaching and studio management experience.

Mentorship and professional growth under the guidance of the Founder.

Casual dress code (just keep midriffs covered 😊).

Opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.
