Job Title: Accounting Intern

Description
We are looking for an entry-level accounting contributor who is excited and driven to put their educational skills to practice in a dynamic environment. This role’s main purpose is to support and assist the accounting team in various financial and administrative tasks. The internship offers a valuable opportunity for accounting students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in the field and develop their skills in a professional work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in accurately recording financial transactions, including journal entries, expenses, cash receipts, and other financial data into the company’s accounting system.
- Help with bank statement reconciliations, ensuring that the company’s financial records match the bank records.
- Provide support during internal and external requests by organizing and preparing relevant documents and records.
- Provide internal reports as needed for multiple departments within the organization.
- Collect and report data supporting the accurate submission of payroll.
- Assist in month end tasks and reporting requirements.
- Assist in review of Accounts Payable transactions for processing.
- Provide support to Senior Financial Analyst and Director of Finance as needed.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field OR recently graduated with a degree in accounting or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with fundamental accounting principles and concepts.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and the ability to learn and work with accounting software.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects and matters.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to analyze financial data and recognize patterns or discrepancies.
- Willingness to learn, take on new challenges, and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
- Actively participate in training sessions and seek opportunities to learn and develop accounting skills
