Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and motivated Social Media Manager Intern to assist our Executive Director in enhancing our online presence and engagement. This role is ideal for someone interested in social media strategy, content creation, and non-profit operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management:
- Develop, curate, and manage published content across various social media platforms.
- Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities and trends.
- Assist in creating and scheduling posts to promote events, campaigns, and organizational news.
- Analyze engagement metrics and develop reports to assess the effectiveness of social media strategies.
Content Creation:
- Design graphics and visuals for social media posts using tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
- Write compelling copy for social media posts, newsletters, and other communication materials.
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and implement creative ideas that align with our mission.
Executive Support:
- Assist the Executive Director with administrative tasks, scheduling, and coordination of meetings.
- Help prepare materials for presentations, board meetings, and community events.
- Conduct research on best practices in social media and non-profit management to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Current student or recent graduate in Communications, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with an eye for design and detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) is a plus.
