Job Title: CAD Design Assistant

Position Scope:
This position is responsible for assisting in the creation of complete electrical design packages for custom designed electrical projects. This would include but not be limited to the creation of detailed electrical schematics, panel layout drawings, equipment layout drawings, and component specifications for purchasing. Also provide technical support to all departments of Lumix as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation of electrical designs and ensure designs are compliant with all NEC, safety, and manufacturing standards as required.
- Participate in electrical design process improvement.
- Participate in product improvement and as-builts (as related to electrical design).
Major Tasks:
- Utilize AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and other software required to assist in the design & create electrical schematics, calculate electrical ratings information, create cabinet layout drawings, create bills of material, create equipment layout drawings, create electrical labels, as well as create any special instructions or other items required for Applied electrical systems. Ensure designs are compliant with all NEC, safety, and manufacturing standards as required.
- Coordinate with project managers field electricians, controls and automation engineers, sales, etc. to provide all required electrical design information in a timely manner to support the design process.
- Coordinate with other departments in scheduling to ensure all required electrical design information is provided on time to support production flow requirements. Attend production meetings, etc. as required.
- Provide assistance in product related technical service and support on electrical design related issues for manufacturing, purchasing, sales, and service as required.
- Interpret specifications, NEC and system requirements to ensure compliance and safety when designing electrical systems.
- Generate Bills of Material for purchasing electrical components.
Major Organization Interfaces/Interactions:
- Internal: Head Electrical Designer, Controls Engineering Manager, Controls Engineers, Industrial Electricity Project Managers, LMF Project Managers, as well as assist in purchasing, sales, and service.
- External: Field electricians, Electrical Project Managers, Controls Engineers, owners, etc.
Position Qualifications:
- Knowledge and familiarity with National Electrical Code preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
- Experience with commercial or industrial electricity preferred.
- Computer competency required. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word preferred.

Education:
- Associate’s degree (Preferred)
Experience:
- NEC: 1 year (Preferred)
- AutoCAD: 2 years (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:
- Mid-Missouri: Relocate to within a 30-mile radius of Fulton, MO before starting work (Required)
