– About Us –

Notes Music Academy is Oakland’s premier music school featuring eleven (11) fully equipped teaching studios, instructors, instruments, and educational tools designed to help students reach their highest and best potential as musicians. We offer music lessons in, but not limited to piano, guitar, violin, bass guitar, drums, and saxophone. Lessons are available for infants, K-12, and adults based on individual levels of proficiency. NMA provides one-on-one training and follow-up from credentialed, university and college-level instructors as well as working professional musicians and peers. NMA instructors are passionate about giving their students a well-rounded musical education. They focus on student needs from various backgrounds and educational learning styles. At NMA there is a heavy emphasis is placed on music theory (sight-reading, notation, chord construction, history, comprehension, improvisation, and transcription) which gives our students the crucial foundation to be a successful musician.

At Notes Music Academy our mission is to bring out the musician in you! Everyone has a heartbeat and it’s our heartbeat that is the centerpiece to all music. Music can bring out the confidence in a child and the child out of the more mature. Here at Notes, we have picked the best and most experienced teachers who have real careers in the music industry. Giving the advantage to not only learn the fundamentals of music like sight-reading, music theory, and notation, but give our students real hands-on experience in stage presence, band etiquette, and industry do’s and don’ts…

As an Instructor you will:

Provide private or semi-private music lessons often with 1-2 people per lesson
Create your own curriculum that utilizes your own teaching style
Teach students instrumental techniques, scales, sight reading, and music theory
Teach general styles of music
Prepare students for recitals
Build relationships and mentor students.
Create an enjoyable learning environment to inspire young minds and help them grow in appreciation of music
Acquire appropriate teaching materials and resources

Immediately Seeking Professional Music Instructors for:

Piano Instructor

– Teacher Preferred Qualifications –

Degree in Music or relevant professional experience
Experience as a music instructor
Ability to teach all ages (children 5+ to adults)
Musicians who can proficiently teach multiple instruments are highly desired
Music Theory proficiency
**Must be kind, patient, and willing to support student growth…

**All teachers are required to pass a background check
