Pittsburgh CLO is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation, and promotion of the American musical theater art form, the furnishing of arts education, and providing outreach and meaningful community service opportunities in Western Pennsylvania and throughout the United States. Hailed as one of the nation’s premier regional theaters, Pittsburgh CLO is seeking a college-aged student for our Construction Center for the Arts Internship.

Our intern assists the Technical Director/Shop Foreman, Charge Scenic and Construction Center Business Manager as needed within the shop, warehouse and office.
Responsibilities have included, but are not limited to:
- Work with shop foreman to research materials and suppliers for products required for set, project and props builds.
- Assist foreman and carpenters in design of scenic items based on drawings.
- Assist with drafting and taking drawings from AutoCAD to CNC ready.
- Strip hardware from unused scenic pieces for re-use.
- Assist with build estimates based on drawing dimensions.
- Label set pieces.
- Take set photos.
- Props and costume inventories.
- Organize props aisle in warehouse.
- Paint with charge scenic at shop and onsite at theater.
- Help in warehouse with loading and unloading of trucks.
- Office help as needed – filing, compiling theatre company lists and production lists for rentals, website updates, etc.
Compensation and perks include pay $7.25 per hour and tickets to each performance.
Requirements:
It helps if applicants are in a Scenic Design or Technical Theatre program (or graduated from same), with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.
