Client Fit & Quality Specialist and Atelier Coordinator – Client Facing

Employment Type: Permanent, full time – 40 hours a week
Location: Office based – New York, US
Salary: $60-$75k depending on experience

About Us:

At Safiyaa, we create garments designed to empower—sculpted silhouettes that honour individuality, precision, and modern femininity. Founded in 2011 by Daniela Karnuts, the brand was born from a desire to offer pieces as exceptional as the women who wear them.

Every Safiyaa creation is made-to-order within our vertically integrated atelier system, where a single artisan oversees each piece from start to finish. Our collections span ready-to-wear, made-to-measure, and bespoke services, all united by a conscious, considered approach to craftsmanship.

Safiyaa is more than a fashion house—it’s a dialogue between designer, maker, and wearer. A commitment to timeless elegance, empowered self-expression, and conscious creation.

We are currently looking for a Client Fit & Quality Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a key role in refining the experience of our fittings—both virtually and in person—while supporting the continued excellence of our atelier’s production and customisation processes.

Job Description:

The Client Fit & Quality Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our remote, ecommerce, and local clients enjoy a seamless, outstanding experience. This role involves:

  • Conducting virtual and in-person fittings,
  • Sourcing and training local tailors
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams to enhance our overall service quality.

Additionally, you will lead initiatives to improve customization guidelines feedback, made-to-measure guideline feedback, block pin guidelines and the measurement of finished garments to minimize issues and ensure a consistently premium product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Engagement & Fittings:

    • Conduct virtual fittings using video conferencing tools to capture accurate measurements and provide personalized fitting/ alteration advice for remote and ecommerce clients.
    • Travel to client locations to perform in-person fittings and consultations, delivering a hands-on, premium service experience.
    • Assist clients with exchanges, styling guidance, or fit-related queries to ensure satisfaction with their bespoke garments.
    • Follow up with each client post receipt of order to offer virtual fit services
  • Liaison & Collaboration:

    • Act as the primary point of contact between clients, ateliers, made-to-measure teams, and sales teams to ensure smooth communication and timely resolution of any fit or alteration issues.
    • Facilitate the flow of client feedback to continuously improve our products and service offerings.
  • Local Tailor Sourcing & Training:

    • Identify and source qualified local tailors/ alteration studios to build a network of service centers for clients unable to visit our central facilities.
    • Develop training materials and conduct regular sessions to ensure local tailors adhere to our precise measurement standards, alteration protocols, and best practices.
    • Establish a protocol of mandatory information to be completed at each fitting to ensure all measurements and block pinnings and notes are recorded accurately in our systems for future reference
    • Providing IT and process protocols to local tailors for virtual fittings. ( Ipad, tripod, lighting, etc )
  • Quality & Process Improvement:

    • Suggest initiatives to refine our customisation standards based on real time findings, ensuring that every piece meets our luxury quality benchmarks.
    • Work with QA to update customization and made-to-measure guidelines to ensure consistency across all client interactions.
    • Work with QA to ensure block fittings are done correctly by all stylists and block fitting manuals are clear for production to avoid error
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain comprehensive records of client interactions, measurement data, feedback, and fitting sessions (both virtual and in-person).
    • Generate regular reports to monitor client satisfaction, quality improvements, and training outcomes, using insights to drive further service enhancements.
  • Coordinating Alterations

    • Ensure that all alterations from the fittings are filtered through the machinists according to their strengths.
    • Work closely with the atelier assistant to ensure these are completed on time
    • Quality control the garments and ensure that the alterations are done correctly and according to the notes.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in a client-facing role, preferably within luxury fashion involving bespoke tailoring.
  • At least 3 years in experience within production, alteration, garment tech
  • Demonstrated expertise with virtual meeting platforms and in-person customer service, including a basic understanding of virtual fitting or styling technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients, local partners, and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, especially regarding fit and quality standards.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client locations and service centers as required.
  • Experience in sourcing or training external service partners (e.g., tailors) and leading quality improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and quality management tools is an advantage.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in training or managing teams, particularly in fashion, tailoring, or quality control.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges.
  • A passion for luxury fashion with an eye for detail in tailoring, fit, and quality standards.

What We Offer:
