Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Vendor Support: This includes setting up new vendors, maintaining existing vendor relationships, and negotiating terms.
- Purchase Order Management: Assisting with purchase order entry, maintenance, and tracking.
- Reporting and Data Analysis: Preparing reports, monitoring inventory, and tracking performance metrics.
- Merchandise Selection: Supporting the buying team in selecting and sourcing merchandise that meets customer needs and market trends.
- Negotiation: Assisting with pricing negotiations and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Sample Tracking: Managing and processing samples received from vendors.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Working with other internal teams (e.g., merchandising, warehouse, quality assurance) to ensure smooth product flow and timely delivery.
- Trend Research: Conducting market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Competitive Analysis: Monitoring competitors’ offerings and identifying potential weaknesses.
- Assortment Planning: Assisting in planning and coordinating product assortments to meet customer demand.
- Data Management: Ensuring accurate data entry and maintenance in relevant systems.
- Other administrative tasks: Filing, faxing, copying, and other daily office functions.
- Communication: Responding to vendor inquiries, communicating with internal teams, and managing internal and external communications.
