Consulting firm in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a full-time, permanent Graphic Designer who is highly skilled and creative in layout and design to join our in-house design team. Candidate must have proven skills in creating visual concepts to communicate information. This includes developing graphics to increase the visual appeal of publications or understanding of messages; developing or refining graphic images; creating infographics; social media graphics; and desktop publishing, various publications. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and is skilled in every step of the design process from concept to the final deliverable.
Requirements
General Requirements:
- Minimum BS/BA degree
- 5+ years on the job experience
- Ability to work as part of a project team as well as independently
- Must be self-disciplined with effective time management abilities and organizational skills
- Thrives working in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with shifting priorities
- Prior experience in a government contracting environment
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills and customer-service attitude
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience with proposal design layout and development
Technical Requirements:
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro DC
- Knowledge of print production, including operating reproduction equipment
- Experience designing for accessibility
Additional Capabilities:
- Section 508 compliance including remediation, QA/QC a plus
- Photography and photo editing experience a plus (Lightroom, Camera Raw, etc.)
- Video and animation a plus (Premier, After Effects, etc.)
