Assistant to Young STEAMers Officers (Paid Internship → Part-Time Position)

About Young STEAMers:

Young STEAMers is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to engaging, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) learning experiences for youth ages 4–24, especially in underserved communities. We combine creative projects, experiments, and interactive activities with mentorship to inspire the next generation of innovators and leaders.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive, organized, and enthusiastic Assistant to support Young STEAMers’ officers in day-to-day operations, project management, and program support. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit operations and has the potential to grow into a part-time role. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, able to multitask, and passionate about making a meaningful impact on youth education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support officers with scheduling, correspondence, and administrative tasks
  • Assist in planning and coordinating programs, events, and meetings
  • Help manage communications with partners, volunteers, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to fundraising, grant tracking, and donor management as needed
  • Perform research, data entry, and reporting to support strategic initiatives
  • Take initiative on special projects that align with organizational goals

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn
  • Passion for STEAM education and youth empowerment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or project management tools is a plus
  • Conversational Spanish is a plus
