I am a graduate of Cornell’s Industrial and Labor Relations School. I excel at writing, editing, organizational structure and psychology, and mentoring. Most recently I was an Assistant Manager at the Menhaden Hotel in Greenport, managing the operations of the front desk. I helped hire and train employees, assisted with the transition in the aftermath of an owner-change (preserving institutional knowledge), established best practices for employees, screened and analyzed job candidates, and trained new hires.
I also worked as a server at Macari Vineyards, a premier winery in Long Island’s blossoming wine region. There I served at bar and table, instructed on wine tasting, and planned and operated events. Most importantly, I learned how to operate within a team and how to provide customers with personal, high-quality service.
I am also a powerful writer and have spent years writing for a college paper, the Cornell Review. At the Review, I rose through the ranks, serving as Treasurer, Managing Editor, and, finally, Editor-in-Chief. As a member of the editorial board, I guided the paper’s direction away from national politics and toward campus issues, revitalized club membership (including stunning growth in 2022 and 2023), organized large speaker events, edited and reviewed hundreds of articles, and mentored younger writers.
Most significantly, I was an outspoken critic of the Student Assembly’s Trigger Warning Mandate. Our articles garnered national attention and Cornell responded to the incident by announcing its “Year of Free Expression,” an effort to improve campus culture surrounding free speech. When I left the Review, it was having its best year ever. I learned how to lead a team, manage numerous projects on tight deadlines, prepare projects for public scrutiny, provide helpful feedback and instruction, plan large scale events, and write clearly and convincingly.
