At the intersection of data-driven analytics and environmental conservation, my work as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology has been both a passion and a platform for innovative research. Collaborating with experts at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, my thesis on migratory birds leverages large scale bioacoustic data and software to understand avian biodiversity in the Colombian Amazon, which has enriched my academic journey at Cornell University and furthered my interest in sustainability and conservation. I have always had a love for mathematics and ecology. My proficiency in statistics and laboratory skills, coupled with fluency in Spanish, has facilitated engagement with local communities and wildlife professionals during fieldwork. Through workshops with local farmers and indigenous communities during my fieldwork in Colombia, and presenting at scientific conferences at Cornell and in Madrid, I have not only extensively practice science communication, but also been heavily influenced in my understanding of what conservation really means. I am proud to be in a conservation space that seeks to promote diverse perspectives and the welfare of people and biodiversity alike.
