Jordan Exantus has been expanding and refining his urban planning methods for over 22 years. His professional experience in planning and several related disciplines spans both the public and private sectors. Mr. Exantus has developed municipally adopted planning documents; he has written and administered millions of dollars worth of grants; he has managed planning, engineering, and design projects (as client and consultant); he coordinated the planning and management of several thousand acres of parkland and historic sites; he has led pre-development planning efforts for (now constructed) real-estate deals; he frequently leads large community engagement efforts, he has staffed planning commissions and development boards; and generally “wears a lot of hats”. His competencies include, but are not limited to: Economic Development, Housing, Environment, Community Development, Land Use, Transportation, Public Health, Local & Regional Governance, Advocacy, and Social Equity. Not only is Jordan a skilled practitioner, but he has demonstrated the ability to deliver projects in environments that require significant cultural competence for success (Indian Reservations, Black Communities, Immigrant Communities, Rural Communities). Mr. Exantus employs exceptional listening, communication, and analytical skills to identify the needs of diverse stakeholders and synthesize their voices in a carefully balanced consensus building process that helps communities achieve a shared vision.
