She received a Bachelor’s of Science from Cornell University, and a Master’s of Science and PhD in Health Policy/Decision Sciences from Harvard University. Her current research focuses on the effectiveness of non-pharmacological approaches to health and well-being on health outcomes, and the economic implications of such interventions.

Dr. Bentley is CEO and Co-Founder of the Health and Human Performance Foundation, a non-profit research organization (www.hhp-foundation.org) that brings together experts and organizations from around the world who are passionate about health, human performance, and well-being. Together, they are studying how breathwork and other mind-body approaches relate to health, well-being, and physical and mental performance among broad populations and ages.

Dr. Bentley has also conducted economic analyses for clinical trials conducted out of UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center (UCLA MARC). In this role, she designed, implemented, and disseminated findings from cost and cost-effectiveness studies to help demonstrate the value-added and potential cost considerations of mindfulness-based interventions. This work increases dissemination and adoption of these interventions among payers, providers, and patients alike.
