Alfa Art Gallery is seeking a Photography & Video Production Intern—a technology‑savvy individual with a strong interest in photography, videography, and digital media—to assist with documenting gallery events, producing promotional materials, and photographing artworks.
This position is an academic‑credit internship, offering hands‑on experience within a professional nonprofit gallery environment. A photo/video camera will be provided by the gallery.
Responsibilities
• Document gallery events, capturing atmosphere, artworks, and the experiences and emotions of artists and visitors through high‑quality photos and video
• Produce polished photo and video materials to support the gallery’s promotional efforts and program visibility
• Assist the curator and curatorial interns with planning and executing professional artist interviews
• Photograph artworks for exhibitions, publications, and digital platforms
• Support general gallery operations as needed
• Contribute to institutional visibility and help promote the gallery’s facilities rental program
Requirements
• Previous experience using SLR/DSLR cameras required
• Must be technologically savvy and eager to learn
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is essential; experience with Adobe Lightroom is a plus (software and tutorials provided)
• Experience with video editing software such as iMovie or Adobe Premiere
• A portfolio of previous work is strongly preferred and will significantly influence the final selection
