Sales Intern

Start Here. Learn the Business. Build Your Sales Career.

Are you hungry to prove yourself?

Nugent Sand Company is looking for an ambitious, persuasive, hardworking Sales Intern who wants more than something to put on a résumé. This is an opportunity to get inside a real business, learn the industry from the ground up, work directly with customers, network at industry events and build the foundation for a long-term career in sales.

We’re looking for someone with drive and ambition who wants to achieve goals, enjoys competition, and isn’t afraid to pick up the phone, start a conversation, follow up, and ask for the business.

You may be starting your career, but we want to see where you can go and help you get there!

What You’ll Do

You’ll get hands-on experience across sales, customer relationships, logistics, pricing, and business development while learning how our business operates.

  • Research prospects, markets, logistics, customers, and opportunities.
  • Reach out to customers and prospects and help build relationships.
  • Support proposals, pricing, and sales presentations.
  • Maintain and update CRM information and sales activity.
  • Follow up on opportunities and help move them forward.
  • Participate and network in customer visits, meetings, and industry events.
  • Work with our sales and logistics teams to understand how we deliver for our customers.
  • Learn the business from the inside out-from the product and supply chain to the customer and the sale.
  • Take on projects that require you to figure things out, solve problems, and get results.

We’re Looking for Someone Who…

Is hungry. You want to accomplish something. You’re not looking to simply check a box-you want to build skills and prove what you can do.

Is persuasive. You enjoy influencing people, communicating ideas, and getting others excited about a solution.

Has ambition. When there’s a goal, you want to achieve it. You don’t let opportunities sit around waiting for someone else to take action.

Works hard. You understand that successful sales careers are built through effort, persistence, follow-up, and consistency.

Is comfortable talking to people. You aren’t afraid to make a call, start a conversation, ask questions, or build a relationship.

Takes initiative. You don’t need to be told every step. You see what needs to happen and take the next step.

Wants to grow. You’re nearing the end of your college career/are a recent college graduate interested in learning the business today so you can become a stronger sales professional tomorrow.

Why Nugent Sand Company?

This is your chance to get started in sales the right way-by learning the business, understanding the customer, networking with industry professionals and seeing how everything works together.

You’ll gain real-world exposure to the mining, metal casting, building products, and energy industries while developing skills in sales, customer relations, supply chain, logistics, pricing, and business development.

You’ll get competitive hourly pay, hands on mentorship from an executive leader, and opportunity to travel and learn on the go

And if you prove yourself?

This could be the beginning of your sales career-not just an internship.

If You’re Ready to Work for It, Let’s Talk.

We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, competitive, curious, persuasive, and willing to work hard to achieve results.
