Want a role where you travel constantly and spend your time at the center of real engineering work? In this position you’ll be on customer sites for most of the year — commissioning systems, troubleshooting in the field, and seeing your code run on real equipment. Onsite work carries per-diem and travel compensation on top of your base salary, and this role accrues vacation faster than our standard engineering positions.
As an entry-level employee at Maskine, you’ll hit the ground running. You’ll immediately be given business-critical engineering work for our clients. Training and guidance will always be available, but you’ll have the freedom to use your creativity and engineering knowledge base to create solutions as you see fit. You’ll also have opportunities in sales and business development to help grow Maskine into new industries. The work isn’t easy, but the challenge is what drives us, and you’ll never find yourself bored.
Responsibilities
- Work independently with clients to specify, architect, write, and test programs for industrial automation equipment across a variety of industries
- Develop proficiencies in the major PLC platforms
- Design clean, intuitive user interfaces for industrial equipment
- Develop proficiencies in major HMI systems
- Commission solutions at customer sites, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their goals and challenges, conducting business fairly and honestly, and maintaining consistent project communication and concise documentation
- Assist with sales, business development, and day-to-day business operations
- Develop and grow your leadership skills
Note: This role is built for engineers with a real appetite for travel. Travel is heaviest during commissioning season and lighter between projects — when you’re not onsite, you’ll be doing development work in-house. Expect stretches approaching 100% travel and stretches well below it.

- Access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future. Maskine does not sponsor employment visas.
