<Job Summary>
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering accurate financial reports. Your expertise will support our organization’s financial health, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work across various accounting disciplines, including corporate, governmental, non-profit, and regulatory reporting, while utilizing cutting-edge financial software and tools.

<Responsibilities>

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently to optimize cash flow.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, cash flow analysis, and journal entries to maintain precise financial records.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to guide organizational planning.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits to uphold financial integrity.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for daily transactions and reporting.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting requirements related to securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), or other specific compliance areas as needed.
  • Contribute to the preparation of tax filings and support tax experience initiatives within the organization.
  • Mentor junior team members in technical accounting practices and financial concepts to foster professional growth.

<Requirements>

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting principles.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and account analysis.
  • Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or similar platforms; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are essential.
  • Experience with SOX compliance processes and internal controls is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with governmental accounting standards or non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare detailed financial reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated mentoring ability to support team development in technical accounting areas.
