About Vineyards Elite

Vineyards Elite is a craft beer, wine, and spirits store dedicated to providing our customers with a great selection of products and exceptional service. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to join our team.

Position Overview

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with applicable payroll, tax, and employment regulations.

The ideal candidate is organized, highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with confidential information, and experienced in managing payroll from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full payroll cycle for all employees, including hourly and salaried staff.

Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.

Review employee time records, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.

Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records.

Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.

Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable federal, provincial/state, and local regulations.

Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, remittances, and required reports.

Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate discrepancies.

Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including tax forms and reporting.

Work with Human Resources and management regarding employee changes, new hires, terminations, benefits, and deductions.

Maintain payroll documentation and support internal or external audits when required.

Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy, and efficiency.

Stay current on changes to payroll legislation, tax requirements, and employment regulations.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in payroll administration or payroll management.

Strong knowledge of payroll processes and applicable employment and tax regulations.

Experience with payroll software and/or HRIS systems.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and other departments.
