Enterprise Information Services (EIS) is recruiting for a Geographic Information Officer to build and strengthen Oregon’s governance, management, and sharing of geospatial data. This position is a critical part of the Data Governance and Transparency Program and will work closely to build cross-agency collaboration in support of statewide use cases for geospatial data standardization, integration, and sharing.
What You’ll Do
The Geographic Information Officer (GIO) is responsible for the strategic alignment of geospatial data management and governance with the state’s broader Oregon Data Strategy, including developing methods to build cross-collaborative initiatives between geospatial data and information programs and the State’s broader data governance efforts. Working in collaboration with the State’s Chief Data Officer, you will also be responsible for contributing to the State’s Data Strategy and in advancing the goals of Oregon’s Chief Information Officer (OSCIO) with regards to geographic information systems and geospatial data. As a data leader, the GIO helps set the strategic direction for the State in relation to data management, data governance, open data, and enterprise data standards.

Please Note: This position is a hybrid role and will be expected to work in Salem Oregon at a minimum of 1-2 days a week. Applicants must be willing to relocate or live within commuting distance upon accepting an offer.
